About Randomness From Mommyland

Spencer Nicole - My Pride and Joy
Welcome to our blog! My name is Brittney. I am the mother of a wonderfully beautiful and amazing 1-year-old daughter named Spencer. She is my absolute pride and joy and my inspiration for this blog. I love being a mother, especially a S.A.H.M, contrary to what the exhaustion on my face at the end of the day might imply. Spencer is an incredible little girl, full of her very own personality (that, of course, keeps right in line with the women on my side of the family :P) and overflowing with potential. This little munchkin is the reason I breathe and the reason I strive to be the best mother, no, the best person I can possibly be.
I’ve started this blog for a few reasons. One: I love to write – it is by far the best way I know how to express myself. I am terrible with verbal communication! Okay, maybe not terrible, but I much prefer the written word over the spoken jumbled mess that spews out of my mouth when I try to have a conversation. Writing is something I’ve always wanted to pursue but always put on the back burner. This is my way of fulfilling my desire to write creatively when I feel compelled to share the randomness of parenting. Two: I love my daughter – she is my world, she is my reason for living, and she is my motivation for everything I do in life. She lights up my soul, and I want to find a way to connect to other parents whose children do the same for them. It’s important to openly express the love we feel for our children – why not do it here? Which brings me to number three: I want to hear from others. I want to share my randomness and read about yours. I want to know that I am not alone when I feel ecstatic over the simple things, discouraged over the failed attempts to do this or that, frustrated with the choices I’ve made or have seen others make, confused by my child’s behavior, or filled with joy when I witness my child’s precious attempts at independence. It’s a journey that is worth documenting, and it’s a journey that necessitates feeling a part of a community.
Parenthood is unpredictable – sometimes the randomness is awesome, sometimes it’s challenging, sometimes it’s heartbreaking, sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s outrageous, and sometimes it just makes you sit and think. We’re here to share the randomness with you and encourage you to join in and share yours as well. Thanks for being here.
Seeing as we love company, join us on Facebook and/or follow us on Twitter! Also, it’s important to teach our children to share, so set a good example and share us with your friends and family :)
